Who Am I

My SEO Journey: From Math Graduate to SEO Expert

Hi, I’m Md. Momin Hossain, and I live in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. Today, I’m excited to share my journey in the field of SEO. Though I graduated with a degree in Mathematics from the National University, my passion for technology since childhood led me to this industry.

How It Started
In 2016, I began my SEO journey while working for an online news platform called RisingNews24.com. That’s where I first learned about SEO. To deepen my knowledge, I completed an online SEO course by Jack Muller.

In 2017, I launched several projects, but none were successful. Determined to improve, I joined a course by Bangladeshi mentor Nasir Uddin Shamim in 2018 and started offering SEO services on Fiverr. I initially provided backlink services and later expanded to on-page SEO for local clients.

Professional Experience
In October 2018, I joined Giant Marketers, a renowned SEO agency in Bangladesh, as an SEO Executive. Balancing my job and marketplace projects helped me save some money, which I used to launch my first website, ThePCSoft.com, in 2020.

Lessons Learned from My First Website
As a beginner, I made mistakes, particularly in keyword research. I chose high-competition keywords (KD 70–95) dominated by authority sites like TechRadar and Microsoft. Despite outsourcing content, my site struggled to rank. To overcome this, I started focusing on internal linking and targeting informational keywords under the main ones. This strategy eventually brought some of my content to Google’s first page.

Through trial and error, I updated my content using suggestions from Google Search Console and keyword ideas from Google’s autosuggest. This approach improved my rankings and boosted my confidence.

My Second Website

In August 2021, I launched my second site, FireSticki.com, applying lessons from my first project. This time, I focused on low-competition keywords, which helped my site quickly rank on Google’s first page. Unlike my first project, I didn’t rely on backlinks and instead prioritized high-quality content. Currently, the site has over 100 posts, most of which rank in top positions.

Automation with Python
In 2021, I began exploring Python automation to simplify tasks. I’ve created tools for auto-publishing posts, collecting emails, scraping contact details from Google Maps, and tracking keyword rankings. These tools have significantly streamlined my work, and I plan to develop more in the future.

Full-Time Blogging and SEO Services
In 2022, I left my job at Giant Marketers to focus full-time on blogging and providing SEO services. Currently, I handle three client projects, including two local businesses and a one-page optimization service. My primary expertise lies in Google My Business (GMB) optimization, local SEO, and Google Map ranking.

Building Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA) takes time and effort. While high-authority backlinks can accelerate growth, I’ve focused on creating valuable content to grow my sites naturally. For anyone starting their SEO journey, remember that consistency and learning from mistakes are key.

Thanks for reading about my journey, and I hope it inspires you in your SEO career!
